This gives us a second gateway from North America and an alternative for traveling from Los Angeles.
Air Tahiti Nui will still be flying from Los Angeles most days of the week. Air Tahiti Nui’s new aircraft – Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be arriving beginning in November, 2018.
Air Tahiti Nui is now offering for an additional amount business class access in Los Angeles and Papeete, Tahiti if you are in Economy, priority check-in if you are in economy with includes quick luggage delivery, and other additions.
Air France will still be flying from Los Angeles three days a week.

United will begin flying from San Francisco to Papeete, Tahiti on October 30, 2018 through March 28, 2019 as a test period. UA 115 Flying from San Francisco to Papeete, Tahiti on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays
Departing at 2:45 pm Arrives Papeete 9:25 pm on the same day
UA 114 Flying from Papeete, Tahiti to San Francisco on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays
Departing at 11:45 pm Arrives San Francisco 9:50 am the next day.
The aircraft is a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with at total of 219 seats

Each cabin has improved lighting, bigger windows, larger overhead bins, lower cabin altitude and enhanced ventilation systems.
Frenchbee a French low cost carrier will begin flying from San Francisco to Papeete, Tahiti on May 11, 2018. This new entrant will be challenging the other airlines with their price points. Each price point includes additional in-flight amenities.

Smart: with 1-piece of cabin baggage of 12 kilos (26 pounds) maximum, 1-piece of checkedbaggage of 23 kilos (50 pounds), and the standard meal
Premium (Premium seat in the Premium cabin): with 1-piece of cabin baggage of 12 kilos (26 pounds) maximum, 1-piece of checked baggage of 23 kilos (50 pounds), standard meal, no costs beverages with Premium service, seat choice in Premium cabin, line jump, priority boarding, and priority luggage delivery
Flying from San Francisco to Papeete, Tahiti on Sundays and Fridays, and on Wednesdays beginning June 21, 2018. This airline also will fly from San Francisco to Paris (Orly) on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The aircraft is a new Airbus 350-900 with at total of 411 seats
